DISTRIBUTION OF “AAVARAMBOOKUDINEER” ON THE EVE OF WORLD DIABETES DAY
Report on Distribution of “AavarambooKudineer” on the Eve of World Diabetes Day
On the eve of World Diabetes Day (14 November 2025), RVS Siddha Medical College & Hospital organized a health initiative aimed at promoting awareness and preventive care for diabetes. As part of this activity, “AavarambooKudineer” (herbal kasayam) was distributed to staff members at the RVS Faculty of Engineering – Technical Campus and the RVS Trust Office.
The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of maintaining healthy blood sugar levels and encouraging the use of traditional Siddha herbal formulations for preventive health care. **Aavaramboo (Cassia auriculata) ** is widely recognized in Siddha medicine for its beneficial properties in supporting blood sugar regulation, improving digestion, and promoting overall metabolic health.
During the programme, the medical team briefly explained the significance of **World Diabetes Day**, which is observed globally to raise awareness about diabetes and its growing impact on public health. Participants were educated about the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle habits such as balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, and routine health check-ups to prevent and manage diabetes.
The distribution of **AavarambooKudineer** served as a practical demonstration of Siddha medicine’s role in preventive healthcare. The herbal decoction is traditionally used to help support glucose metabolism and maintain overall wellness. By introducing this herbal preparation to the participants, the programme aimed to promote awareness of natural and traditional approaches to health management.
A total of **50 members** from the Engineering Technical Campus and the Trust Office benefited from this initiative. The participants received the herbal drink and appreciated the effort taken by the medical team to promote health awareness and preventive care.
The programme was successfully conducted and served as an important step toward spreading awareness about diabetes prevention while highlighting the value of **Siddha medicine** in maintaining health and wellbeing. Such initiatives reflect the institution’s commitment to community health promotion and the integration of traditional medical practices in everyday life.
