The subject deals with the History and Importance of Medicinal Plants, Plant biology, Plant Anatomy, Ecology and Plant Tissue Culture as well as Plant Pharmacology. The highly qualified staff under the department provides both theoretical and practical knowledge of Plant Taxonomy, Morphology, Anatomy, Medicinal uses and the Identification of plants. The Department maintains a Herbal Garden with a collection of more than 250 different of Medicinal Plants, Herbarium, Raw drug, Specimen and Models. The Department of Medicinal Botany organizes periodical Seminars & Conferences with the guest lecturers of eminent Scientists in order to encourage the students to undertake research along with their academic curriculum.
