The second professional BSMS students of RVS Siddha Medical College and Hospital, under the Department of Sattam Saarntha Maruthuvam and Nanju Maruthuvam, visited the Coimbatore Police Museum on 13th March 2026 as part of their academic curriculum.
The visit aimed to enhance students’ understanding of forensic science, legal medicine, and toxicology by providing practical exposure to police procedures, crime investigation techniques, and medico-legal aspects. The museum displayed a wide range of exhibits including historical weapons, forensic tools, preserved evidence samples, and detailed documentation of notable criminal cases.
Students gained valuable insights into crime scene investigation methods, fingerprint analysis, toxic substances, and the role of medical professionals in legal cases. The sections related to poisons, narcotics, and forensic identification were particularly relevant to their studies in Nanju Maruthuvam.
The visit also helped students understand the importance of maintaining legal records, handling medico-legal cases, and collaborating with law enforcement authorities. It served as an informative and enriching experience, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application.
