Panel Discussion on “Merits and Demerits of Pranayamam”
The Department of SATV, RVS Siddha Medical College and Hospital, Coimbatore, organized a Panel Discussion on the topic “Merits and Demerits of Pranayamam” on 08.07.2025.
The session aimed to encourage analytical thinking and a scientific approach among students towards the practice of Pranayamam — one of the key aspects of Siddha and Yogic sciences.
A total of four student groups presented their perspectives, exploring both the therapeutic benefits and possible limitations of various Pranayamam techniques. The presentations covered physiological, psychological, and clinical viewpoints, promoting critical discussion and evidence-based understanding.
The panel was guided by three expert faculty members, who provided valuable insights and clarified misconceptions regarding the practice and its application in Siddha medicine. The interactive session enhanced the students’ academic knowledge and practical awareness.
The event concluded with an open discussion and feedback from the experts, making it an enriching and intellectually stimulating experience for all participants.
