I. IEC – Approval and Follow-up

Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) for RVS Siddha Medical College was constituted on 29-1-2020 with Dr.Suvetha, Associate Professor of PSG Medical College and Hospital as Chairperson. The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for IEC was prepared and circulated to members. The first meeting of IEC was held on
12-2-2020 to review a Research Proposal entitled “ Evaluation of effectiveness of Amma Magaperu Sanjeevi Pettagam during delivery and lactating women” prepared for mini project research grant in commemoration of observance of third Siddha Day by Central Council for Siddha Meidicine. Selvi Haripriyaa, Principal Investigator and Selvi.R.Ramya, Co-Investigator who are studying BSMS., Final Professional had prepared under the guidance of Dr.A.Shanuvas, Lecturer, Shri.M.Subramanian, Biostatistician, Prof.Dr.G.Kavitha, Principal and Prof.Dr.R.S.Ramaswamy, Director(S). The IEC committee recommended the study. The research proposal was awarded Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) in undergraduate category by Central Council for Siddha Medicine. Then the study was registered in Clinical Trial Registry of India (CTRI) on 23-12-2020. A letter to Director, Department of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Arumbakkam, Chennai was sent on 28-12-2020 seeking permission to conduct the study in Government primary health centers. Director of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy granted the permission for conduct of the Research work in the field on 19-2-2021. The research work is ongoing.
